The 75th World Championship in Formula 1 is set to be its longest, spanning from March to December 2024 with a record 24 races. The milestone was intended for 2023 but was missed due to the cancellation of two events: the Chinese Grand Prix, halted for the fourth consecutive year because of COVID-19, and the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Italy, canceled due to severe floods.
With these races returning, the 2024 season is poised to include 24 rounds. Although there was consideration for replacing the Belgian Grand Prix with a new race in South Africa, this change did not materialize.
A significant adjustment in the 2024 season is the swapping of the Japanese and Azerbaijani Grand Prix dates.
