The Canadian Football League (CFL) is Canada’s professional gridiron football league. The league consists of nine teams divided into the East Division and the West Division. The regular season begins in June and ends in November, with each team playing 18 games. The top four teams in each division then qualify for the playoffs, culminating in the Grey Cup, the CFL’s championship game.
The 2023 CFL season is scheduled to begin on June 8 and end on November 20. The Grey Cup will be held on November 20 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario.
Canadian Football League 2023 Season Teams
The CFL consists of nine teams, divided into two divisions:
- The regular season schedule consists of 18 games for each team. Each team plays each of the other teams in its division twice, once at home and once away. The teams also play two games against each team in the other division, one at home and one away.
- The top four teams in each division qualify for the playoffs. The first round of the playoffs is the East Semi-Final and the West Semi-Final. The winners of these games advance to the East Final and the West Final. The East Final and West Final winners then meet in the Grey Cup.
- The Grey Cup is the CFL’s championship game. It is held on the second Sunday in November. The Grey Cup is the oldest trophy in professional sports in North America.
