Szymon Marciniak, the referee who officiated the World Cup Final, has been selected to oversee the second leg of the Champions League semi-final between Manchester City and Real Madrid.
This week, Manchester City has a chance to advance to the Champions League Final and clinch the Premier League title, as Pep Guardiola’s team gears up for crucial showdowns against Real Madrid and Chelsea.
With two home matches left at the Etihad Stadium this season, the Blues are set to face Real Madrid in the second leg of the semi-finals on Wednesday, carrying a 1-1 draw from the previous match.
In a tightly contested match in the Spanish capital last week, Kevin De Bruyne’s powerful strike equalized Vinícius’ long-range goal in the first half.
Manchester City is aiming to reach the Champions League Final for the first time since 2021 and, in doing so, seeks redemption against Real Madrid, who staged a remarkable comeback to eliminate the Blues in the semi-finals last season.
