Paris Saint-Germain has suspended Lionel Messi for a period of two weeks following his unapproved promotional visit to Saudi Arabia.
The football superstar, who has won the Ballon D’or six times, went on the trip for personal reasons, without seeking prior permission from the club. The suspension has come as disciplinary action by PSG, as the club rules require players to seek permission before engaging in such activities.
It is worth noting that Messi’s two-year contract with PSG is set to expire in the upcoming summer.

The fact that the club is refraining from making any public comments indicates a new policy at PSG, led by President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, in which no individual is above the club and everyone is subject to the same regulations.
