On Sunday, supporters of the Istanbul-based football team Besiktas threw thousands of stuffed toys onto the pitch as a gesture of solidarity towards the children impacted by the catastrophic earthquakes that occurred in Turkey on February 6th.
During the match in Istanbul featuring two Turkish teams, Beşiktaş and Antalyaspor, fans threw thousands of teddy bears onto the pitch.
These soft toys will be given to children who survived the recent deadly earthquakes that devastated southern Turkey and northern Syria, claiming the lives of over 50,000 people and reducing towns and cities to rubble.
An estimated 13 million affected with the devasting earthquake in Syria and Turkey.
