Hugh Jackman, an actor, has revealed that he was offered a board seat by several rival UK clubs to Ryan Reynolds’ owned AFC Wrexham.
The Australian was asked by Laura Kuenssberg of the BBC if he would think about buying a team, specifically Manchester United, who are up for sale.
Man U? The 54-year-old responded. I’m not sure if I have that kind of money, but I am certain that I don’t.
Rivals in Wrexham offer Jackman joint ownership.
However, Jackman acknowledged that after Reynolds purchased AFC Wrexham, he received multiple offers for just £1 to join as a co-owner from rivals.
The actor did admit that the offers tempted him, but he would not say which clubs had contacted him.
However, the actor claimed that he had a better plan for upsetting Reynolds to continue their long-running rivalry.
Michael B. Jordan, who Jackman was with last night and who is a co-owner of Bournemouth, said, “You know what? It seems a little straightforward that outsiders are buying football teams. I’ve made the decision to do so. I’m going to try out for the team, in fact.
Jackman makes a Norwich offer to play
In addition, Jackman expressed interest in trying out for Norwich City, saying, “I think if I really want to stick it to Ryan Reynolds, then if Wrexham get to play Norwich, because obviously there’s a different level here, I think it’d be best if I was heading in the winner.”
He added that Norwich is everyone’s favorite second team and that their nickname, “Canaries,” is not intimidating. It would be intriguing to find out if Jackman ultimately decides to move forward and open a club in the near future.
Numerous well-known actors have club stakes or are well-known clubgoers.
Tom Hanks, a renowned actor and lifelong fan of Aston Villa, was present at Villa Park on Saturday to watch his team take a 2-0 lead before losing to league leaders Arsenal 2-4.
