In an unprecedented move, the Women’s State of Origin will introduce a thrilling two-game series format in 2023.
With the opening match less than a week away, New South Wales and Queensland have unveiled their respective team lists.
Women’s State of Origin 2023: Dates, schedule, venues
Mark your calendars for an exciting month of Women’s Origin action, as both highly awaited matches are set to take place in June. Game 1 is scheduled for Thursday, June 1, followed by Game 2 on Thursday, June 22.
The kick-off time for both games is locked in at 7:45 pm AEST, promising an evening filled with thrilling rugby league action.
A significant highlight is the absence of any NRL fixtures on those dates, allowing the Women’s Origin series to claim the spotlight without any competition.
New South Wales, the defending champions, will kick off their title defense at CommBank Stadium in Sydney, as they welcome Queensland for the opening clash.
After three weeks, the battleground will shift north of the border, with the second game set to unfold at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, adding to the intensity of the series.

New South Wales Women’s State of Origin confirmed team list
In a significant development, the New South Wales (NSW) team for Game I of the Women’s Origin has unveiled four talented debutants.
Head coach Kylie Hilder has handpicked Brooke Anderson, Jaime Chapman, Taliah Fuimaono, and Jesse Southwell for their first-ever Origin appearance.
“This squad boasts exceptional depth and experience, including 11 players from the World Cup-winning Australian Jillaroos team last November,” Hilder commented.
Emphasizing a fresh start for the team in 2023, Hilder stated, “We leave behind our accomplishments of 2022, no matter how remarkable they were. Our focus is on securing victory in both Origin matches, not just settling for a single win. We are determined to achieve nothing less than a resounding 2-0 series triumph.
