Stanford also secured their place in the College World Series with a thrilling 7-6 walk-off win against Texas in the Stanford regional. Drew Bowser delivered the game-winning hit, supporting Joey Dixon’s seventh win of the season. The Cardinal managed to stay alive in the postseason tournament by defeating the Longhorns the previous day, thanks to a remarkable performance by Quinn Matthews, who pitched a complete game of 156 pitches with 16 strikeouts.
Tennessee secured the final spot in the CWS with a resounding 5-0 victory over Southern Miss. Zane Denton’s three-run home run in the fifth inning provided the Volunteers with a comfortable margin to defeat the Golden Eagles and advance to Omaha.
